We partied like it was 1858! The CAHS sponsored Heritage Day on June 22 at Bessie Benson Memorial Park in downtown Carroll in honor of Carroll's sesquicentennial in 2008. Activities included an Abe Lincoln impersonator (stopping by on his way back from the Stephen Douglas debate), 1858 period music by a men's quartet, and music on the "piano of the prairie," the dulcimer, with the highlight of the afternoon a dedication ceremony for Carroll's first historical marker.
